A Basingstoke man has admitted assaulting two police officers last week.

Ian Christopher George, of Park Prewett Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Lee Clement and PS Lisa Green in the town last Friday.

A charge of assaulting a third officer was withdrawn when the 51-year-old appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Saturday.

The case has been adjourned for sentencing, and George will next appear before the same court on July 6.

He has been released on conditional bail.

A Popley man has admitted sexually assaulting a woman at the town's train station during a Covid lockdown.

Thomas David Harris has indicated a guilty plea after appearing in court charged with sexually touching a woman when she did not consent.

The incident happened at Basingstoke station on November 18, 2020, during the second Covid lockdown.

The 27-year-old also admitted trespassing at Woking station on the same day.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 17, Harris, of Don Allen Drive, was released on unconditional bail whilst a pre-sentence report was produced.

He will appear for sentencing at the same court on August 4.

A suspected drug dealer has admitted possessing eleven deal bags of cocaine.

Fatbardh Pillati, of Chase Side in Enfield, London, was spotted in Basingstoke in possession of the half-gram bags of “import-grade” cocaine on May 22, 2020.

He has been charged with intending it to supply it.

Appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 17, the 26-year-old indicated a guilty plea.

He was released on unconditional bail, and must appear for sentencing at Winchester Crown Court on July 9.

A man in his 50s will be sentenced next month after he admitted encouraging a girl to engage in sexual activity.

Dennis Moore incited the teenager into performing a sexual act on herself, and also made three child abuse images during a five-year period.

The 53-year-old, of Tiverton Road, indicated guilty pleas to both charges when appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 18.

He was released on unconditional bail and will be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on July 16.

An Odiham man has appeared in court charged with stealing more than £3,500 from a car dealer.

Gary Ronald Diaper, of Runnymede Drive, is charged with stealing £3,704.20 from Snows Seat over the course of eight months in 2019.

The 63-year-old indicated a guilty plea when appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on June 18, and will be sentenced at the same court next month.

He was released on unconditional bail pending the hearing on July 23.

A man has been fined after he admitted driving on the M3 whilst under the influence of cannabis.

Said Mohamed Ali was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Corsa on January 7 on the southbound carriageway of the motorway, near to Basingstoke, when he was under the influence of THC.

THC is the psychoactive ingredient of cannabis.

The 20-year-old admitted the charge at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, and was handed a £230.

He was also banned from driving for 12 months.

Ali, of Ermine Close in Hounslow, was also ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
