Stanley Elliot to appear in court today after being charged with double murder
A Basingstoke man will appear in court this morning after being charged with two counts of murder.
Stanley Elliot, 52, of Kiln Road in Sherborne St John, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The arrest came after the bodies of husband and wife Geoffrey Hibbert, 61, and Michelle Hibbert, 29, were found at their semi-detached bungalow in Buckland Avenue just before 2am.
Mr Elliot was held in custody for two days before he was charged by Hampshire Constabulary yesterday afternoon.
He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today (June 23).
The Gazette will be reporting from court later this morning.
