A man was arrested in the early hours of this morning at a flat in Sherborne St John, The Gazette can report.
Neighbours were awoken to the sound of commotion just after 4am as police descended on Vilders Farm on Kiln Road.
A shirtless man described as large and broad was taken away in handcuffs.
Forensic officers from Hampshire Constabulary have been searching a flat on the street now for more than 12 hours.
Specialist officers, wearing gloves and masks, were seen removing items from the property in clear, plastic bags.
Hampshire Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
A resident who lives nearby said there was "a lot of noise" at around 4am.
They said it was largely a quiet and friendly area apart from issues of one or two neighbours.
