Sir.–Once again, the Basingstoke Festival of Transport was a huge success and was enjoyed by many thousands of people.
Great credit must go to The Thornycroft Society and the borough council for the excellent organisation of this event.
However, it was noticeable that not a single exhibit was on display from the Hampshire Museums Service.
Given the fact that Milestones Museum has several eligible vehicles, and that exhibits from this source have been displayed for many years past, it was most disappointing to see nothing from our local museum of Hampshire life.
One would think that if The Thornycroft Society, Mervyn’s Coaches and all the various private owners could make the effort, then the Hampshire Museums Service would do likewise.
