IT’S the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year – and as part of our coverage, The Extra is now giving you the chance to send in your own message of congratulation to Her Majesty.

The Extra’s sister title The Gazette will be publishing a special Diamond Jubilee publication on Thursday, May 17, and as part of our coverage, we would like to include your messages.

Gazette Newspapers editor Mark Jones said: “We are pleased to give people this opportunity to send in a message of congratulation to The Queen, and we will be sending a copy of the edition that contains the messages to Buckingham Palace.”

If you want to send in a message of congratulation of no more than 50 words, email it, with your name, age and address to editor@basingstoke gazette.co.uk or send it in by post to The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Message, c/o The Editor, The Gazette, Pelton Road, Basingstoke, RG21 6YD.

The deadline to get your message in is 9am on Monday, May 14.

In this Thursday’s Gazette, we will be publishing the pictures that have been sent in for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Portrait competition, and readers can vote for their favourites.

And over the main Diamond Jubilee weekend – June 2-5 – Gazette staff will be reporting on, and photographing, local jubilee events.

If you are organising a street party, or other event, contact chief reporter Emily Roberts on 01256 337410.

Alternatively, you can email Emily on emily.roberts@basingstokegazette.co.uk.
