MEMBERS of the public have given staff at Basingstoke hospital a big vote of support – nominating the hospital and the Intensive Care Unit as national finalists in the WOW! Awards 2011.
The hospital, in Aldermaston Road, has been nominated for the “Best Care Provider” award, and The Intensive Care Unit has been nominated for the “WOW! What a Team” award for initiative, creativity and innovation in customer service.
Donna Green, acting chief executive and director of nursing, said: “We are very excited to have been nominated as finalists for this year’s WOW! Awards.
“These awards are a great way to show our appreciation to staff for all their hard work and dedication, and to be nominated in the national awards is a testament to them.”
The WOW! Awards are an independent initiative which helps organisations to give their employees special recognition.
The judging will take place in London in October to decide on the final winners of the awards.
