A MAIZE maze is set to be a top school holiday attraction after it was created by the owners of a farm shop.
EC Drummond and Son planted the giant six-acre maze using sweetcorn crops with a design including the shape of a Second World War Spitfire fighter plane.
The family, who took over Manydown Farm shop in September last year, planted the crops in March and used satellite technology to mark out the design.
Paint was sprayed on the ground and the crops were then cut along the coloured areas.
Opening on July 17, visitors can find their way around the course at Scrapps Hill Farm in Worting Road, Basingstoke, between 10am and 6pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
Guy Drummond, who helped create the maze, said it will take about an hour to get round.
He added: “By the middle of August ,it will be 6ft tall. On site there is a little animal park with different animals on show and climbing frames and other activities.”
A trip through the maze costs £5.50 for adults, £4.50 for children and OAP’s, and those under three go free. It will be open until September 5.
