POLICE in Basingstoke have launched an investigation after a man kicked a dog.

An e-fit image has been released by officers investigating the incident which is alleged to have taken place in Russell Howard Park in South Ham, Basingstoke at around 3pm on Thursday, June 24.

They say a 16-year-old girl and her pet were walking through when they passed by a man.

He too had a dog which bit the girl’s dog on the lip. He then kicked the teenager’s dog in the head and knocked it over before threatening the girl and walking off.

PC Lee Stanbrook, from the Basingstoke South Safer Neighbourhoods team said: “The girl was left extremely shaken by what happened and I would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit.

“The teenager says another man came over to help her. Are you this person? If so, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Stanbrook at Basingstoke police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
