BASINGSTOKE hospital has been ranked as one of the top 40 in the UK.

The hospital, in Aldermaston Road, earned the accolade after being one of 130 UK NHS acute trusts reviewed by healthcare intelligence provider, CHKS.

Analysts rated the trusts against 21 key performance indicators including healthcare-associated infections, mortality rates, waiting times and quality of care.

CHKS then named the best, including Basingstoke hospital, at an awards ceremony in London.

Mary Edwards, chief executive of Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It was excellent to see our hospital recognised as one of the top ones in the country again this year.

“The CHKS Top Hospital Awards are based on the evaluation of 21 specific data indicators which include evaluations on aspects of safety, quality of care and health outcomes.

“All these measures support us to ensure we deliver the best patient care.”
