THE by-election for the vacant Whitchurch Town Council seat will take place on December 17. The election follows the resignation of Councillor Sharon Prince.
The council comprises 12 members and whoever is elected will serve until May 2011.
Polling will take place on December 17 and the polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm at the Gill Nethercott Centre.
The two candidates standing for the seat are Jackie Day and Bill Judge.
The closing date for postal votes and postal proxy vote applications is Wednesday, December 2 at 5pm.
Votes will be counted at 10.15pm in the Gill Nethercott Centre on December 17.
