Sir.–Although Christian Aid Week was as long ago as mid-May, the final results for the Alliance of Basingstoke Churches, joined for the first time by St Michael’s, North Waltham, have finally been collated.
As the co-ordinator for the alliance, I would like to thank everyone involved, either as a collector or a donor, for the splendid total of £12,629.71.
This is, alas, down on last year, but in view of the current economic climate, it is still a good result.
This figure does not include the Gift Aid tax refund that Christian Aid can recover.
Such a result is very gratifying for everyone who worked so hard as a collector or fundraiser, as well as being a help to the recipients around the world.
–Eve Vincent, Wellington Terrace, Basingstoke.
