Sir.–I’d like to say a big “thank you” to Trudie Gregory and the Chineham Park Parent Teachers Association for putting together the Chineham Park Live event on Saturday, July 4, as part of the Basingstoke Live programme.
It was great to see the Chineham Park Choir on stage again followed by 12 great local music and dance acts with the Drum Run-ners closing the show. We also had a number of stallholders and it was good to see a large number of staff and parents involved and supporting the school.
Over the course of the day, we must have had around 1,000 people attend. Chineham Park has had a bad press during the past year, so it was great to see the local community get behind the school.
With events like Chineham Park Live, and good SATs expected this year, I see signs now that we are turning the corner and that the school will start to move rapidly upwards.
–Councillor Andrew McCormick, Popley East, Basingstoke.
