A WOMAN was seriously sexually assaulted after she walked from a Basingstoke nightspot with two men.

At 2.10am on Sunday, July 12, the 27-year-old woman started talking to two men after she had left Bar Rock, in Winchester Street, and she walked with them towards New Road.

She has told officers she was then seriously sexually assaulted at an address in the Worting Road or Sarum Hill area.

Detectives have appealed pub-goers and to members of the eastern European and Polish communities in Basingstoke to help identify the two men who they would like to speak with in connection with the alleged attack.

Both were described as speaking with an eastern European accent.

Detectives have also released CCTV images of the men.

The first man is described as aged in his late 20s, around 5ft 7ins tall, with a tanned face, a large, square forehead and brown hair gelled into a square shape.

The second man is though to be younger, with blue eyes and a round face.

Detective Constable Colin Squibb, of Basingstoke CID, said: “Anyone who recognises them or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time should contact us as soon as possible.

“We believe this incident happened in an area close to the town centre which would have been busy with people making their way home from nights out during the early hours of Sunday morning.”

Anyone with information can contact Det Con Squibb, of Basingstoke CID, on 0845 045 4545, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
