The Arts Society Basingstoke exhibition at the Willis Museum

The showcase, supported by The Arts Society Basingstoke, features work from three schools and two colleges, and highlights a range of creative projects.

St Bede’s Catholic School pupils, aged eight and nine, took part in a project titled Printing Like William Morris, where they explored how nature influences design.

Guided by textile artist Vanessa Rolf and Arts Society volunteers, the students created printing blocks and used them to design and print on tote bags.

A spokesperson for The Arts Society Basingstoke said: "Looking and studying were just the beginning.

"This project 'from an idea to a product' will also have provided an insight into the business world and how to work as a team."

Winklebury Junior School also took part in a soft sculpture project led by Rolf.

Pupils developed skills in drawing, printing and working with fabric to create three-dimensional sculptures.

The exhibition also includes Art @ The Station, featuring pieces from The Vyne School, Queen Mary’s College and Basingstoke College of Technology.

These exhibitions have been provided by The Arts Society for the past three years and offer a pleasant environment for passengers together with an opportunity to celebrate the work of young artists.
