Harry Enfield bringing new show to The Anvil, Basingstoke

The national tour, titled Harry Enfield and No Chums, will offer an intimate and retrospective journey into Enfield's career.

Showcasing both autobiographical elements and character comedy, the performance will offer a behind-the-scenes look at his character development, the art of performance and reflections on British culture over four decades.

The show features a mix of storytelling and classic sketches, reviving Enfield's characters like Loadsamoney, Stavros, Mr Don't, and Wayne and Waynetta Slob.

Enfield will share real-life inspirations and personal anecdotes that shaped these characters.

He will also revisit memorable duos like Smashie and Nicey and the Surgeons, discussing their conception, evolution and cultural impact.

The narrative will include sharp social commentary, addressing themes from changing political landscapes to modern social issues, all viewed through Enfield's unique comedic lens.

Enfield, a BAFTA-winning comedian, actor, writer and director, has been involved in some of the most successful comedy shows of the last three decades.

His awards include the 1998 British Comedy Award for top BBC1 Comedy Personality and Silver Roses of Montreux in 1990 (for Norbert Smith).

Enfield received a BAFTA alongside Paul Whitehouse for their BBC1 series Harry & Paul.

Harry Enfield and No Chums will be at The Anvil, Basingstoke, on Sunday, October 18.
