A NEW family-friendly gym and sauna is holding an opening day ahead of its grand opening.

The Street Gym Basingstoke will open in the former Aspects of Fitness unit at 550 Worting Road, serving communities in and around Oakley, North Waltham and Wootton St Lawrence.

The gym, run by Abigail O’Connor and her family, will officially open its doors on September 1, following two open days on Sunday, August 30 and 30 and Monday, August 31, from 10am to 2pm.

Abigail said the entire gym will be fully finished and ready to showcase during the open days, giving visitors the chance to look around, meet the team and find out more about memberships.

There will also be exclusive joining offers available to anyone who attends.

The new site will feature state-of-the-art equipment, a fully air-conditioned gym space and a sauna, with memberships capped to create what Abigail describes as a more “private and exclusive” training environment rather than an overcrowded commercial gym.

Despite the premium feel, memberships are designed to remain affordable, and the gym is already nearly half full before opening.

The launch follows the success of The Street Gym Overton, which opened earlier this year and has already reached capacity.

A key focus of the brand is accountability, community and helping members achieve results, with the new Basingstoke site set to offer strength and conditioning, pilates, yoga and social sweat classes.

There will also be family and baby zones available every day, aiming to make the facility more accessible to parents and families. Memberships are available from age 13, while children as young as six will be able to use the gym during designated family times.

Abigail said: "The aim is to create a welcoming, private and exclusive atmosphere where people feel supported and part of a community."

She said she aims to achieve this while still offering a premium training environment at an affordable monthly price.

The team is keen to welcome local people to the open days so they can see the facility in person before committing to membership.
