GCSE results: Lord Wandsworth College among best in country

Lord Wandsworth College, near Hook, saw 53 per cent of grades at 9-7, up six per cent on last year, and 14 per cent at grade 9.

Adam Williams, head of the college, said: "We are delighted with these excellent GCSE results at LWC.

"Both these and last week’s A-level grades are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students."

Alps school data analysis placed the college among the top 10 per cent nationally for student progress, meaning pupils made greater progress across a broad range of subjects than 90 per cent of their peers.

English literature and language results placed the college in the top one per cent for value added.

Ten grade 9s were achieved by students Abeer and Olivia, while Ophelia earned nine grade 9s.

Isla, Emily and Summer each received seven grade 9s, with Charles and Lottie earning six.

While, Annabel was awarded five grade 9s.

These marks follow last week’s A-level results, which saw 70 per cent of entries graded A*-B, with 90.5 per cent A*-C.

The school has also been shortlisted for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards for the second consecutive year.
