Alton decorator in last 26 for Screwfix trades competition

Trevor Mangan, from Alton, is one of just 26 tradespeople still in the running for the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026 title, having impressed judges with his resilience and willingness to share his business knowledge with others.

Trevor said: "Making the semi-finals means a huge amount to me.

"I'm incredibly proud to represent Alton and show the quality of tradespeople we have here.

"I've worked hard to build my career, so being recognised at this level is really special.

"I'm looking forward to sharing my story and hopefully doing Alton proud in the final."

With more than 900 entries across the UK and Ireland, Trevor stood out for his skill, perseverance and determination.

He has been working in the trade since 1987 and now runs his own business, TJ Painting & Decorating.

The competition winner will receive a trade bundle worth £20,000, including tools, technology and training.
