Post Box Sports Bar - Fans watch England World Cup match

Taking cover from the sweltering heat, fans funnelled into the air-conditioned venue to grab a pint and, in some cases, a pitcher of beer, to watch the Three Lions in action.

England fans were left underwhelmed when Thomas Tuchel's side, who had impressed with a 4-2 victory over Croatia in their opening group game, were held to a 0-0 draw by a well-drilled Ghana side at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

On the other hand, the Ghanaian fans in attendance loved every second as their side pulled off a defensive masterclass.

Despite the lack of goals, the atmosphere inside the London Street venue was electric as supporters gathered to cheer on both sides.

Co-owner Wayne Lee-Buckland said: "It's been such a great atmosphere in Basingstoke (and Newbury) and we look forward to seeing everyone again this Saturday. Come on England!"

The Post Box, Basingstoke's first interactive sports bar, broadcast the match live across its numerous screens, with fans able to enjoy food, drinks and a range of interactive games including pool, darts and shuffleboard.

England remain unbeaten in the tournament and currently sit at the top of their group with four points from two games, as they edge closer to the knockout stages.

With one final group stage match left to play against Panama at 10pm on Saturday, June 27, fans will be hoping to see the Three Lions roar.

The last time England faced Panama in the World Cup was at Russia in 2018, with a hat-trick from Harry Kane, a brace from John Stones and a goal from Jesse Lingard securing an emphatic 6-1 win.
