Farnborough Airport will appeal over a delayed planning application to expand non-weekday flights and make an associated amendment to its restricted aircraft weight category.
The move follows a lack of decision on its November 2025 application, which sought to allow the airport to grow its non-weekday flights at the same rate as its weekday flights and propose minor amendments to its existing aircraft weight restrictions.

Farnborough Airport CEO Simon Geere said: "For three years now we have been engaging constructively with Rushmoor Borough Council (RBC) and our neighbouring community to gain the necessary support needed to secure our future.
"However it has become increasingly evident that a small number of technical and legal aspects of our proposals make the path to a successful outcome at the local level very difficult to navigate."
The airport’s proposed changes are intended to meet rising market demand over the next decade and support newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft technology.
An earlier application from November 2023, which remains undetermined, sought to increase the airport’s annual flight cap from 50,000 to 70,000.
By filing a non-determination appeal, the airport will now refer the case to the Planning Inspectorate.
The airport has also asked Rushmoor Borough Council to extend the statutory timescales for its original 2023 planning application pending the outcome of the appeal.
