Graham Parker's 50th anniversary tour coming to Basingstoke

The singer-songwriter will come to the Haymarket on Wednesday, September 16.

Parker first rose to prominence in the 1970s along with his band, The Rumour, and enjoys a career spanning more than four decades.

His music blends British rock with elements of American R&B, soul and country, and his lyrical talents have been praised by critics.

Parker's tour marks the 50th anniversary of his debut album Howlin’ Wind, which was released in the spring of 1976.

In addition to the tour, a new book titled Graham Parker: Howlin’ Wind, written by Jay Nachman, has been released.

This book offers insight into Parker’s early life and career, including interviews with him, members of The Rumour and producer Nick Lowe.

A new live album, featuring Parker performing with The Goldtops and backing singers The Lady Bugs, will also be released as a limited-edition vinyl in May 2026.

A show spokesperson said: "More than 50 years after his debut, Graham Parker remains a true original.

"His music continues to blend soul, rock, wit, and sharp storytelling in a way that few artists have matched, securing his place among the most enduring voices in rock and roll."
