A new real-life immersive gaming attraction has announced it will be opening in late summer in Festival Place.

As previously reported, Activate Basingstoke will be taking over three units on the upper level of Festival Place next to Starbucks.

In a new video on social media, the gaming company announced the 'games begin' in 'late summer.'

Jobs are also being advertised for team members to 'be the face of Activate,' with the closing date for applications on June 26.

The job advert for a zero-hour contract team member role reads: "We're now hiring Team Members to join our dynamic team. If you're enthusiastic, energetic, and love creating unforgettable experiences, we want to hear from you!

"You will ensure our guests Health, Safety & Wellbeing are kept in the highest regard at all times and create an environment where our guests thrive on your incredible personality and sense of Creating Unforgettable Experiences One Guest at a Time!"

The advert reveals that the opening hours for the site will be 10am–10pm, seven days a week.

The gaming attraction, described as being like a scene from Mission Impossible, will include physical challenges with interactive, technology-driven gameplay, including lasers and portals.

The experience, for groups of two to five, allows players to jump, climb and problem-solve their way through interactive game rooms featuring lasers, grids, hoops and portals.

The announcement comes from We Do Play, the leisure group behind Boom Battle Bar and Flip Out.

The new Basingstoke site will include all of Activate's games: Strike, Portals, Control, Press, Hide, Laser, Grid, Mega Grid and Hoops.

Further details, including booking information, will be announced in due course.
