Hampshire businesses can win a sea shanty workshop

Experience Hampshire is giving company the opportunity to win a sea shanty workshop for up to 10 employees.

The workshop offers a chance to learn about the history of sea shanties, followed by a singing session led by an experienced local sea shanty crew.

Roger Walker, chief experience officer for Experience Hampshire, said: "Sea shanties have enjoyed a huge resurgence in popularity in recent years because they’re fun, uplifting and bring people together.

"We wanted to create a memorable experience that encourages teamwork, laughter and something completely different from the usual office social or team-building activity."

Hampshire-based companies can enter by emailing hello@experiencehampshire.uk with the subject line 'We'd love to win.'

The winner will be selected at random on Sunday, May 31.

No singing experience is necessary, making the workshop accessible to everyone.

The winning organisation can host the workshop at any suitable venue in Hampshire on a mutually agreed date in 2026.

Participants will have the option to perform for colleagues or invited guests.
