A ballet company is preparing to perform Sleeping Beauty in Basingstoke.

Ballet Cymru will bring their reimagined version of the classic fairy tale to The Haymarket on Saturday, June 6, at 7.30pm.

The performance will feature innovative choreography, distinctive costumes, exceptional dancing and immersive projections.

The storyline revolves around a young princess ensnared by a curse and explores themes of love, acceptance and individuality, all set to Tchaikovsky's famous score.

This show, marking Ballet Cymru's 40th anniversary, promises a captivating experience, complete with pre-recorded audio description in both Welsh and English.

A venue spokesperson said: "Come into the woods, to celebrate Ballet Cymru’s 40th anniversary, as the breathtaking dancers take you on a journey like no other."

Tickets are priced at £22.50, with discounts for over 65s, under 16s and full-time students at £20.50.
