A school football team has made history after winning a national trophy.
Lord Wandsworth College’s girls’ U15A football team were crowned champions of the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) U15 Girls Shield after defeating Hertfordshire's Queenswood 4-1 on Friday, May 1.
The team, based near Hook, is now the most successful girls’ football side in the school’s history.

Team coach Scott Sanderson said: "We started the season by telling the girls to have fun, work hard and be a team.
"What followed became far more than just a season.
"This is a team that has become united by commitment, belief and pride in representing Lord Wandsworth College."
The triumph marks the end of an outstanding season in which the team also reached the semi-finals of the ISFA U15 Girls’ Cup.
Co-captain Hollie said: "For a group of girls who may not have had the opportunity to play football elsewhere because of the limited availability of girls’ teams, we've built something truly special."
Georgia Bowers, head of football at Lord Wandsworth College, said: "From a small squad to the most successful girls’ football team the college has seen, LWC’s U15A Girls’ season has been defined by hard work, resilience and togetherness."
