A NURSERY school is expanding childcare options to offer year-round care for families.

Wellesley Nursery, based in Stratfield Turgis on the grounds of Wellesley Prep School, has announced plans to offer care throughout the year starting September 2026.

Currently operating on a term-time-only schedule, the nursery will transition to year-round provision and begin accepting children from the age of two and up.

Angus McDonald, Headmaster of Wellesley Prep, said: "Wellesley Nursery has been part of our community for many years and is trusted by generations of families.

"Moving to a year-round model allows us to better support modern family life while keeping the same warm, caring environment parents know and trust.

"What makes Wellesley Nursery special is the childhood it offers.

"With space to explore, constant access to the outdoors and a genuine sense of freedom, it is a place where children can truly enjoy being children."

The changes are part of the nursery’s continued commitment to supporting local families with greater flexibility, while building on its long-standing reputation for outstanding pastoral care and a happy, nurturing start for young children.

Wellesley Nursery is set within 100 acres of grounds, providing children with daily access to outdoor space and nature.

The nursery offers an environment focused on exploration, play, and discovery.

Located on part of the Wellington Estate, it provides an organic, nature-rich setting that supports children’s early development through hands-on learning and time spent outdoors.

The nursery also runs a playgroup during term time, giving families an opportunity to visit, meet staff, and explore the setting before enrolling.

To support these changes and help families learn more about the nursery, Wellesley will launch a new dedicated website.

The website will detail the expanded offering and provide an easier way for parents to find information and register interest.

Parents can now register for places starting September 2026.

Funded hours and Tax-Free Childcare are available for eligible families.

For more information about the nursery or to register interest in a place, families can visit wellesleynursery.co.uk or contact the nursery directly by phone or email.
