Three injured as car crashes into tree on A34 near Basingstoke

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car crashed into a tree to avoid a car travelling on the wrong side of the road.

The incident happened at approximately 12.20 pm on Friday, February 27, on Larks Barrow Hill, near the junction with the A34 at Litchfield.

A black Seat Leon crashed into a tree, having had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road.

It’s reported that the driver of the second vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the crash.

The three occupants of the Seat Leon suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on Larks Barrow Hill, near the junction with the A34 at Litchfield.

"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision.

"Do you recall witnessing anything of the incident? Do you have any footage, including dash cam? Were you the driver of the other vehicle?
