A car was seen driving incorrectly down the A34.

A black Honda CRV was seen going northbound on the southbound carriageway between Burghclere and Tot Hill Services on Tuesday, December 23.

According to police, numerous vehicles narrowly avoided colliding with the Honda, which then corrected itself.

However, officers are now searching for witnesses and are appealing for any information, particularly from motorists who were travelling on that section of the A34 at the time.

They are requesting that anyone with dashcam footage—which may have captured the incident—come forward to support their ongoing investigations.

A police spokesperson said: "We have received multiple reports that a black Honda CRV was witnessed driving northbound on the southbound carriageway before correcting itself and proceeding on the carriageway.

"This occurred on the A34 between Burghclere and Tot Hill Services and we believe a number of vehicles narrowly avoided colliding with the vehicle.

"Officers are appealing for anyone who was on these roads at the time and witnessed the driving to come forward.

"Did you see anything? Perhaps you have dashcam footage showing the vehicle?"
