The micro-share racehorse syndicate confirmed the appointment of newly licensed trainer Charlie Pike and the relocation of its horses to the historic Hampshire-based yard.
Racehorse syndicate, Racing Club has announced the appointment of newly licensed trainer Charlie Pike as part of their relocation to Danebury Racing Stables in Hampshire, establishing the historic yard as its new training base. The move follows changes in training arrangements for Racing Club and saw all horses previously based at Newlands Stables in Lambourn relocated to Danebury, where they are now settled.
Charlie Pike, who received his training licence from the British Horseracing Authority earlier this month, prepared for the role during his time as assistant trainer under former trainer Paul Attwater, following his retirement from Newlands Stables.
The syndicate said that during Paul’s time as trainer, he established a reputation for professionalism and strong yard management, training several notable winners including Blackwaterfoot, a winner at Ffos Las, and Brosay, the Racing Club VIP Syndicate representative and an Ascot winner.
His former Lambourn base at Newlands Stables has since been taken over by trainer Ed Walker.
Charlie now operates as a full-time trainer from Danebury Racing Stables, located beneath Danebury Hill near Stockbridge. He brings a broad range of experience gained across both Flat and National Hunt racing.
His career has also included roles with trainers such as Richard Hannon, Jamie Snowden and Barry Brennan, giving him first-hand experience of the daily operations of several successful racing yards.
On the appointment, Tom Aldridge, Head of Racing at Racing Club said: “Charlie has worked towards this opportunity for a number of years, and his breadth of experience across Flat and National Hunt racing makes him well placed to take on the role. The horses have settled in well at Danebury, and there is a great deal of optimism about this next phase.”
Danebury Racing Stables is widely regarded as one of the most historically significant training centres in British racing.
Established in the early 19th century, the yard rose to prominence under the guidance of John Barham Day and later his son, John Day, producing multiple classic winners and earning a reputation that rivalled Newmarket during the Victorian era.
The stables continued to flourish today, combining modern training facilities with a setting deeply rooted in racing heritage and is home to notable trainers including Tom Cannon Sr.
The syndicate stated that Charlie’s appointment represents a continuation of Racing Club’s focus on long-term development and stability, with the organisation looking ahead to the future of its horses under his guidance at Danebury.
As part of the continued growth, Racing Club has also added a new colt, From Me to You, to its roster for the forthcoming season.
The horse, who will be trained by Richard Hannon and is expected to be an exciting prospect for next season, according to the syndicate.
While From Me to You joins a growing portfolio of horses, the Club emphasises that its expansion reflects a broader momentum for shared racehorse ownership.
