A major road faces closures after a large 1km crack appeared.
Along the A33 Swallowfield bypass between Basingstoke and Reading, a long crack stretching 1km has appeared on the northbound carriageway.
To allow for temporary repairs, the northbound road will close from the Hampshire boundary and Mereoak Lane on Tuesday December 9 and Wednesday December 10 from 8pm-6am.

A diversion will be in place via Odiham Road, B3349 Basingstoke Road & Basingstoke Road.
Wokingham Borough Council posted in their newsletter: “Apologies for the short notice while we finalised some details and thank you for your patience while we carry out these essential works.
“This will allow us to safely reopen the cracked lane and stop rain getting in, which causes further damage, while we work to identify a permanent solution.”
