People in Hampshire are being encouraged to consider fostering as part of a new campaign.
Hampshire County Council has launched the appeal, highlighting the impact fostering can have on both children and families.
The campaign, which aims to raise awareness during the winter months, centres on a moving video told from the perspective of a foster carer’s birth child and emphasises the warmth, connection and lasting relationships that fostering can create.

Cllr Roz Chadd, executive lead member for children’s services, said: "Every child deserves a safe and loving home.
"This winter, we’re asking Hampshire families to consider fostering and help create new friendships and happy hearts."
The council’s fostering service continues to see a shortage of foster carers compared to the number of children in need of a home, despite efforts to reduce care admissions.
It welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, including those from the LGBTQ+ community, different faiths and ethnicities, single carers, and those without prior childcare experience or home ownership.
Foster carers receive full training, a dedicated social worker, financial support and access to the Hampshire Hive project, a network of local groups offering community-based assistance.
