THE manager of a café which was forced to close following a BMW crash has thanked its loyal customers for their support.
Claire Wilson, who manages The Coffee Shop, in Reading Road, Sherfield-on-Loddon, alongside Rachel Benham, said the team was “heartbroken and in shock” following the incident at around 2am on Monday, October 6.
As previously reported, the police were called to the café following reports of a BMW crashing into the front of The Coffee Shop.

Claire said the team has been cleaning up the damage but she has no idea when the café will reopen.
“We are heartbroken that this happened to our coffee shop,” she said, adding: “We’d like to thank our loyal customers for all their supportive messages, we will rebuild our lovely coffee shop so that it is better than ever. Watch this space for the relaunch. We can’t wait to see you all again.”
The family-run café serves coffee, teas, smoothies and milkshakes along with homemade cakes, breakfasts, lunches and specials.
Hampshire Constabulary said the driver of the BMW, a 26-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and criminal damage and remains in custody.
No one was injured in the crash.
