Princess Anne visited Tadley during a busy day of royal engagements.

The Princess Royal made her way to the Citizens Advice Bureau in Franklin Avenue, Tadley, on Thursday, September 25, to mark the 40th anniversary of the organisation.

Princess Anne, who is the patron of the National Association of Citizens Advice, was received by the Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire, the Hon. Hugo Cubitt.

While she was in the area, the Princess greeted members of the nearby Tadley Elderly Day Care, including Mary, whose granddaughter was actually in attendance when Princess Anne officially opened the building decades ago.

A spokesperson for Tadley Elderly Day Care said: "Our clients really enjoyed seeing Princess Anne, and it was a hot topic of discussion for the rest of the afternoon.

"We are very grateful to all our volunteers who came in to help us take everyone outside to wave as Princess Anne went past.

"Her security was very friendly and helpful, telling us where to stand to get the best view and keeping us informed of when she would be leaving the building.

"It was a lovely experience that we will remember at the Day Care for a long time."

Following her visit to Tadley, Her Royal Highness then visited the headquarters of the Naval Children's Charity in Twyford Avenue, Portsmouth, of which she is a patron, to mark the 200th anniversary of the organisation. She was received by Vice Admiral Sir David Steel, Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire.

The Princess Royal, president of the Royal Yachting Association, later attended a reception at Southampton International Boat Show, at Mayflower Park, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire Mr Nigel Atkinson.
