A COUPLE who set up their business last year have been crowned the best wedding photographers in the South East for the second time.

Emma and John Medcraft, from South Ham, established Medcraft Photography in January 2024 and were 'completely shocked' to win the 2024 Wedding Photography Specialists of the Year at the South East and London Prestige Awards.

Now, Emma said the pair feel "very, very lucky," to win the 2025 award.

She said: "We are overjoyed to announce that we have been awarded the Wedding Photography Specialists of the Year for the second consecutive year at the South East and London Prestige Awards 2025.

"This recognition reflects not just our passion but also the trust our clients place in us. We went to Warbrook House Hotel for some fine dining and an overnight stay to celebrate our achievement."

Emma explained that she and John pride themselves on building relationships with couples.

She continued: "We believe our success is rooted in our commitment to providing clients with an extraordinary experience.

"Weddings are significant events in our clients' lives, filled with love and cherished memories.

"Many couples express that working with us feels like being with family, and that is precisely the connection we aim to create. From the start, we have focused on building strong relationships with couples.

"For example, we take the time to meet multiple times ahead of the wedding day, getting to know their unique stories. This understanding allows us to capture genuine moments on a wedding day."

Speaking about her work, Emma explained that a great deal of thought goes into each photograph to capture the perfect moment.

She said: "Each photograph serves as more than just an image—it’s a timeless memory that our clients will keep for years.

"We focus a lot on the details—the smile on a parent's face, the heartfelt speeches, and those sincere moments of connection."

Emma said the second award has helped spur them to grow the business.

She said: "Being recognised for the second time is such a blessing. It encourages us to continually grow as artists and professionals.

"What makes us unique in the wedding industry is our dedication to enhancing the client experience. We strive to be more than just photographers; we want to be part of the couple's celebration.

"We eagerly anticipate creating more memories, celebrating love, and sharing in family joy for many more years to come."
