BASINGSTOKE Town FC have reached yet another cup final after defeating local rivals Andover New Street in style.

'Stoke, playing in their mint third strip, took on Andover New Street in a North Hampshire Cup semi final clash at the Winklebury Sports Complex on Tuesday, February 25.

Three first half goals saw 'Stoke comfortably see off the Street to progress to the final against Romsey Town - the third cup final clash between the pair in as many years.

An early goal from Pele Kouisseoue put 'Stoke ahead in the fifth minute, before he doubled the lead with a slick, well-worked, Barcelona-esque team goal in minute 26.

Jaden Brissett calmly slotted home on the stroke of half-time to ensure there was no coming back for New Street.

George Reid had a standout performance, securing a hat trick of assists on the night, before he was subbed off for Charlie Barlow on minute 55.

'Stoke now face the challenge of making it three-for-three as they prepare to take on Romsey Town in the final for the third year in a row.

A 3-2 comeback saw the Dragons lift the silverware last year, having been reduced to 10 men.

'Stoke will be weary that Romsey will be out for blood as they look to maintain their clean record in what has become a somewhat regular affair.

The fixture is due to be played at Romsey's AEC Protection Ground on May 6, kicking off at 7.45pm.
