A new soft play centre and cafe are opening in Festival Place this Saturday, January 25, promising an exciting new space for families in Basingstoke.

Operated by GLL under its Better brand, the new facility will replace the previous soft play area that closed in October.

The new area promises to offer a much larger and more interactive experience for children aged up to 10 years old.

The woodland-themed soft play centre features ball pools, slides, crawling areas, and interactive elements, along with a dedicated play zone for children under two.

The spacious facility can accommodate up to 100 children and has been designed to ensure maximum fun and engagement for young visitors.

Paul Shearman, GLL Partnership Manager, said the team is thrilled to unveil the new facility.

“Obviously, our previous soft play area was comparatively small. So parents who have been here will be blown away when they see the new space,” he said.

The new centre also boasts a cafe, which will serve hot and cold drinks as well as snacks and will be open seven days a week.

Two staff members will run the cafe, making it a convenient spot for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their children.

Ahead of the big day, Shearman shared details about the centre's ticketing system, designed to ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

“There will be one-hour slots given every 15 minutes so kids can have maximum fun. It’s free for adults as long as there are equal or fewer adults than the number of kids they’re coming with.

"So if there are two kids, two adults can be inside the area for absolutely free. If more, there will be a small fee for the extra adult. This is only because there is a maximum capacity for the area, and we want to make sure there is enough space for the kids.”
