A MAN from Basingstoke has been arrested after a woman was assaulted and forced into a car by a man in Aldershot.
Officers received a report that a woman in her 40s was assaulted and forced into a car by a man known to her on Shoe Lane, near the Basingstoke Canal, at approximately 4am on Wednesday, September 11.
The woman was driven around Aldershot and was returned to Shoe Lane at around 5.30am.

She then exited the vehicle, a blue Renault, and tried to seek help from motorists on the Farnborough Road, also known as the A325.
She suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault and was located safe shortly after. Hampshire Constabulary has arrested a man after launching an investigation.
A 56-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a person thereby occasioning actual them bodily harm, false imprisonment and kidnap.
The man remains in custody whilst police carry out further enquiries.
Hampshire Constabulary is now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident. A spokesperson for the force said: "Were you in the area at the time? Did you see any suspicious behaviour?
"Did you see a woman on Farnborough Road at around 5.30am on Wednesday 11 September? Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44240389713."

Detective Constable Chelsea Adamson said: “We fully appreciate that this incident will be of concern to members of the public and I would like to reassure you that those involved are known to each other.
"At this time there is not believed to be a wider risk to the public.
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation into what has taken place and to assist us with this we need to hear from anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to police.
“It’s vital that if you saw what happened, or have any information, that you please get in touch with police.”
