Residents of a care home enjoyed a day out at a steam fairground.
The residents of Old Raven House care home in Hook, Hampshire, visited Hollycombe Steam in Liphook for a picnic, fairground experience, and railway journey.
They strolled through the steam-driven fairground, enjoying the music and atmosphere that brought back memories of childhood.
The highlight was a ride on the vintage carousel, followed by a trip on Hollycombe's scenic railway, offering views of the South Downs.
Hollycombe Steam is home to one of Britain's largest collections of steam-powered attractions, providing a glimpse into how the Victorians and Edwardians used steam for work and leisure.
The residents enjoyed fairground sideshows from the era, rekindling fond memories.
Anne Turner, home manager at Old Raven House, said: "Our residents had a wonderful time at Hollycombe Steam.
"The sights, sounds, and experiences brought back many happy memories, and it was truly heart-warming to see so many smiles.
"The scenic railway, in particular, always leaves everyone in high spirits.
"We’re already looking forward to our next visit."
The residents returned to Old Raven House after a day filled with joy and laughter, grateful for the chance to relive their childhood memories and create new ones together.
The care home regularly organises trips to various places to ensure the residents have fulfilling experiences.
This outing to Hollycombe Steam was one such initiative, aimed at providing a fun and nostalgic day out for the residents.
