The Basingstoke Lions Club is set to host their popular charity book sale, featuring their amiable mascot, ‘Lennie’ the Basingstoke Lion.
The event is scheduled for September 21, beginning at 9am and concluding at 4.30pm at Station Mall, Basingstoke, nestled between Costa and Sainsbury.
The club, founded in Basingstoke in 1967, is part of Lions International, the world's largest community service organisation.
They frequently organise events such as the book sale to generate funds predominantly for local community support, with some also allocated for major international disasters.
Also expected for this event is Caroline from 'Funny Faces', a talented face painter.
She will be ready to apply her artistic skills to delighted children's faces, transforming them into 'Little Lions' for the duration of the fundraising book sale.
The event promises a friendly ‘pawshake’, a high-five, or perhaps a soft hug from the ever-welcoming mascot, ‘Lennie’.
