Cherry Blossom Manor care home in Bramley recently presented Hartley Wintney's Over 55’s Forum with a £500 cheque.

The funding was granted by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with disabilities or mental health issues across the UK.

Hartley Wintney's Over 55’s Forum meets on a bi-monthly basis, helping members with their independence and providing opportunities for social contact to avoid loneliness.

Cherry Blossom Manor representatives were welcomed by the forum at a gathering in the church hall, where the cheque was handed over.

Chair of the forum, Dorothy Harvey, said the money would enable the forum to continue its work.

Gigi Despojo, general manager at Cherry Blossom Manor, said: "We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities."

Run by Barchester Healthcare, Cherry Blossom Manor provides nursing care, residential care, and respite care.
