A cake shop that opened in Basingstoke last year has unexpectedly closed.
Caker Street opened in Church Street in April last year after several months of setbacks like problems with sourcing enough stock and equipment, and then recruitment issues.
However, it has closed now without any notice.
An executive at Caker Street's main office in London said the Basingstoke branch is closed for a couple of months due to "some construction works."

Caker Street is a chain and the Basingstoke store was its fourth branch in the UK.
It sells an extensive sweet menu, with crepes, waffles, milkshakes, sundaes, cheesecake and cake slices.
It also makes cakes for special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings amongst others.
The business launched in 2015 as an online cake shop before opening its first kiosk in Westfield Mall, London, in March.
