A DRUG driver who was caught in Basingstoke has been disqualified and fined.

Ivan Grancharov, 43, of Surbiton, had 13 micrograms per litre of cocaine and 598 micrograms per litre of Benzoylecgonine in his blood when he was driving on the A340 on April 12, 2023.

The legal limit for both drugs are 10 and 50 respectively.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence on December 14.

However, he was sentenced after Aldershot Magistrates' Court found him guilty on Wednesday, June 5. The verdict was made in his absence.

The court disqualified him from driving for 12 months and ordered a fine of £600.

He also been told to pay £250 costs and £240 surcharge.
