A COMMUNITY theatre group which has been putting on productions since 1958 is busy rehearsing for its next play.

WADS, based in Whitchurch, is preparing for an outdoor production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth in Bere Mill from July 11-13.

The story, which will have 20th century dystopian feel to it, focuses on a noble husband and wife partnership brought down by ambition.

A group spokesperson said: “Additionally, WADS is always on the lookout for people to get involved - actors, directors, sound and lighting people, make-up people, set builders, wardrobe, front-of-house, etc. etc. All are welcome.

“Our club night is every Tuesday at Whitchurch Parish Hall from 8pm. Just turn up or contact WADS by email or telephone.”
