PEOPLE and their pooches are being invited to take part in 5k dog walk to raise money for charity.

Basingstoke resident Fi Donnison has organised the fun dog walk to raise funds for breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel on Sunday, May 19.

All money raised will go to Fi’s Himalayan charity trek in November this year, which will also raise money for CoppaFeel.

Fi, who is now in her third year of being cancer free, will be joined by Lisa Basham, of Cromwell Dog Life, who can answer any dog training questions you might have and Paul Meades of 4pawsgoodies.co.uk is giving out dog treats.

People who want to take part are being asked to meet at The Street Bakeshop in Old Basing, at 2.30pm, where they can get a coffee and a cake, before walking up Crown Lane to Basingstoke Common for a lap or two.

The trustees of the common have requested that all dogs be on the lead for welfare of livestock.

Parking has been arranged at the Royal British Legion Hall, in Crown Lane, but people are being asked to not put dog poo bag in the hall's bins.

Lisa said: “We would love to see as many of you as possible at Basingstoke Common this Sunday.

“CoppaFeel! is a breast cancer charity close to my heart as my family friend Fi Donnison has had so much support, and drawn so much strength from, its events and supporters.

“Bring your dogs along and I will answer any training questions you might have.”

People can take part even if they don't have a dog.

Entry is £10 which can either be cash or via Fi’s JustGiving link justgiving.com/page/teamfiraisingcancerawareness2024.
