DRIVERS in and around Basingstoke and Deane will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A303, from 8pm April 8 to 6am July 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions M3, junction 9 to Three Maids Hill, carriageway closures for resurfacing work.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M3, from 8pm May 13 to 6am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 6 to junction 5, lane closures for drainage work.

• M3, from 8pm May 14 to 6am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 5 to 6, lane closure for maintenance works.

• M3, from 8pm May 15 to 6am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 6, lane closures for maintenance works.

• A303, from 10pm May 19 to 5am September 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington Cross to Wash Common, carriageway closure for National Grid works.

• M3, from 8pm May 20 to 6am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 6, lane closures for drainage work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
