A BASINGSTOKE drink driver who was caught behind the wheel while more than three times the limit has been banned from getting behind the wheel for two years.
On Saturday, February 24 this year Tim Averill, of Park Prewett Road, Rooksdown, drove a Peugeot on the A34 in Litchfield with 112 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
During a hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Thursday, April 11 the 60-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 24 months and ordered a fine of £3,939 to be paid.
Court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £1576 must also be paid.
