Southampton City Scouts have launched a new Wyvern Explorer Unit for young people aged 14 to 18, allowing them to gain essential life skills.

The explorers gather every Wednesday evening in Swaythling to enjoy various activities.

The Explorers offers a range of adventures chosen by its members, from white-water rafting to community projects.

The group offers fire building, hiking, and even managing a board game café for weekend meets.  These activities offer exposure outside the school curriculum.

Interesting teachings include a recent cybersecurity workshop organised by a leadership team member for his university dissertation. It helped the Explorers understand weak passwords, digital footprints, and protect their data in a digitised world.

Volunteers are an essential part of the group.  As summer approaches, the group will be participating in paintballing and camping, with trips planned to various places including Guernsey.

Wyvern Explorers is an opportunity to broaden your horizons, find a place in the world, and accumulate lifetime memories.
