A CAR has caught fire whilst parked on a residential road in Chineham.
Fire crews have been spotted in the area this afternoon (Thursday, April 18). It is understood that they have been present since around 3:20pm.
The area has been cordoned off, however, residents are being permitted access to their homes.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Basingstoke firefighters crew were alerted to a car fire on Binfield Close at 3pm this afternoon.
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the vehicle which suffered around 100 per cent damage.
"Police have been informed due to the cause being doubtful."
