BIRDWORLD is gearing for its new immersive attraction, 'Love + Colour', set to captivate families and bird enthusiasts from May 25.

This vibrantly-themed attraction, replacing the former 'Temperate House' walkthrough, explores the colourful world of birds, geared to be a learning experience for visitors of all ages.

Local artist, Jen Leach Murals has enhanced the walkthrough with vibrant murals, creating 'selfie' spots and interactive children's areas.

Love + Colour aims to illuminate the intricate relationships of birds and their mating rituals, helping visitors draw parallels with human relationships.

The attraction unites education with enjoyment, showcasing Birdworld's successful breeding programmes.

Special features include the adorable Bali Myna, bred from pairs in the park, and the Victoria Crowned Pigeons, whose males bewitch their females with a unique cooing and bowing show during courtship.

Families can anticipate brilliantly coloured birdhouses awaiting lovebird pairs, as well as breathtakingly beautiful birds like the electric-blue Asian Glossy Starlings and Lilac Breasted Roller.

The latter, lauded for its lilac chest, rusty cheeks, and spring-green crown, is reputedly a beloved subject among artist park visitors, who liken the bird to a watercolour masterpiece.

Marketing manager Woodies Wheeler-Bennett said: "Here, your senses will come alive as you soak in the sights, sounds, and textures of the avian world. It has been a joy to see our vision develop before our very eyes and we can’t wait to share it with you all. It’s a true sensory sensation."
