THE owner of a food truck bringing the flavours of Mexico to Basingstoke will open his new restaurant this weekend.

Since last year El Bigote has been serving customers out of a food truck in Festival Square, outside Festival Place, but today (Saturday, April 13), the business will take up permanent residence in the old Festival Street Kitchen (FSK) unit.

Established in 2020 in Fulham London, El Bigote is run by Luis Moreno Mancillas – originally from Tepic and Guadalajara in Mexico.

Luis said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our business into a larger premises at Festival Place. We can’t wait to welcome our existing and new customers along to check it out.”
